USC Beaufort Center for the Arts

This two-hour presentation is open to Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) members and requires advance registration through the USC Beaufort OLLI website: https://olli.uscb.edu. (Registration opens in mid-September.)

Life writing encompasses the forms of personal essay, memoir, and biography–as a few examples. After talking about the varieties of life writing, workshop participants will read and discuss passages from some representative excerpts and conduct a few exercises in life writing in response to instructor prompts. Then participants will be guided in writing a more extended piece and discussing how they might carry that work forward beyond the workshop.
