Honoring the literary legacy of South Carolina's only Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Gamechanger: The Life and Writing of Julia Mood Peterkin is a free public program presented by poet Ann-Chadwell Humphries on behalf of the South Carolina Humanities Speakers Bureau.

In honor of National Poetry Month, join Jonathan Haupt and Beaufort High School students Holland Perryman, Alisha Arora, and Millie Bennett as they explore Pat Conroy’s lifelong relationship with poetry as a reader, as a self-described “failed poet,” and as a writer who found a creative outlet for his Great Love of poetry in his lyrical and descriptive prose.
Beginning National Library Week, the Beaufort Human Library will be held as a free public event on Sunday, April 3, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., hosted by the Beaufort County Library (311 Scott St.) in partnership with the nonprofit Pat Conroy Literary Center, Beaufort High School's Diversity Awareness Youth Literacy Organization, and community volunteers.
