The Pat Conroy Literary Center's Porch Talk Live goes to the 29th annual Southern Festival of Books in conversation with novelist Wiley Cash and singer, songwriter, and author Radney Foster, moderated by Conroy Center executive director Jonathan Haupt. We'll discuss The Last Ballad, Cash's haunting and lyrical new novel set in the Appalachian foothills of North Carolina in 1929 and inspired by actual events.

The second annual Pat Conroy Literary Festival will be held on October 19–22 in beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina. Join us as we celebrate Pat Conroy’s legacy as student and teacher through this year’s festival theme of The Transformative Power of Education. Extending the remarkable conversations and experiences which began at the Pat Conroy at 70 festival and birthday celebration in October 2015, the Pat Conroy Literary Festival will continue to honor the writing life of Pat Conroy (1945–2016) in his adopted hometown of Beaufort, South Carolina.

Join us as the Pat Conroy Literary Center presents two back-to-back sessions at the second annual Bluffton Book Festival from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, at the Bluffton Branch Library. Free and open to the public, the program will feature Cassandra King Conroy; Story River Books authors Bren McClain, Ellen Malphrus, Bernie Schein, and Maggie Schein; with Ed Williams.

Pat Conroy Literary Center presents six workshops at the Bluffton Book Festival. All of them are on the second day of the festival November 17, 2017 spanning from 10:00 am to 5:15 pm. They are listed here with links to each event.

New York Times best-selling southern writers Lee Smith and Jill McCorkle and South Carolina's own musical superstar Marshall Chapman will take the stage together for an unforgettable evening of larger-than-life storytelling. Join us for a book and CD signing after the performance. Reserved seating tickets also include an off-site afterparty with Lee Smith, Jill McCorkle, and Marshall Chapman following the book signing.

The Pat Conroy Literary Center will hold its second annual March Forth/March Fourth day of learning on Sunday, March 4th, at the Frissell Community House at Penn Center on St. Helena Island. Commemorating the second anniversary of Pat Conroy’s death, March Forth/March Fourth will be a day-long embrace of nature, poetry, fiction, and fellowship among writers and readers in the heart of Conroy’s beloved lowcountry.
