“Chunk, Sneak, Bribe (a little)” guides you through the challenges of undertaking a long journey of writing. A two-hour hybrid interactive workshop for those working on a memoir or other long writing project.

Topics include:

  • Selecting a writing critique group
  • Breaking up the project, tackling one bit at a time
  • Using literary journals, writer’s conferences, and other outlets for motivation and feedback along the way.
  • Learning to “sneak up on yourself” with new strategies when the topic looks overwhelming.
  • Scheduling regular rewards and other markers for getting your work done.
  • Using “Peak Performance” principles from management training gurus and Olympic athletes to guide your project.

About our instructor:

Estelle Ford WilliamsonEstelle Ford-Williamson is author of two prizewinning novels, Rising Fawn and Abbeville Farewell, as well as a co-written memoir, Seed of South Sudan, with Majok Marier.

She has also published stories in numerous literary journals. Early in her work life, she was a reporter for UPI, then acquired a master’s degree in psychology, using it as a management training consultant and career advisor. She designed and performed workshops for companies in 16 states, and counseled individuals on career directions.
