She has also taught at Harvard\, the University of Michigan and the Pennsylvania State University where she has won awards for her teaching. She has written eleven books of poetry\, a prize-winning academic book\, How Will the Heart Endure: Elizabeth Bowen and the Landscape of War\, and a work of creative nonfiction\, You Can’t Wrap Fire in Paper.
