Which are the key social media sites for writers? (How) can writers build and audience on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Goodreads, and Pinterest? How—and about what—can writers blog to expand a sphere of influence and grow a readership? A key part of building a writer’s platform for worthwhile engagement with a community of readers revolves around thoughtful social media and blogging. But what should you share? And how often? And with whom? Publicist, blogger, and marketing consultant Shari Stauch will discuss how to discover thousands of readers using social media and how to continually expand a writer’s circles of influence with free tools, exchanging guest blogs, and more. This 90-minute class will explore why the blogosphere has become so influential in people’s readings lives and buying decisions, how to begin blogging, and how to identify the topics you’ll want to write about that will grow your audience!
